As part of Wyke Farm’s Butter Dairy Expansion, Sycamore previously supplied a two-channel Clean In Place (CIP) System, Cream Mixproof Routing Manifold and Brine Tank. Since the commissioning of this equipment, they have continued to support Wyke Farms by developing a maintenance schedule, ensuring equipment is kept at peak performance.

Planned maintenance is provided as part of our Project After Care, delivered by our Parts and Service Team. This proactive approach to planned maintenance and servicing, ensures that the equipment that has been installed continues to perform as efficiently and effectively as originally designed.

This service package was led by John Cooper, Parts and Service Technical Manager, Sycamore Process Engineering who alongside his team of engineers completed the maintenance activities during a pre-planned week shutdown period.

This package included the full wet end service to all hygienic process valves and pumps utilising original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts.

This included the inspection of all hygienic process valves, to understand the condition of wearing parts to form recommendations for future maintenance schedules. Similarly, all hygienic pumps including Alfa Laval SRU rotary lobe pumps and LKH-Prime Pumps were disassembled, cleaned and inspected before a full wet end service including new OEM mechanical seals were fitted.

Once all maintenance activities had been completed and the process solutions had been reassembled, an IO Test was carried out by Engineers from Wyke Farms and Sycamore. This ensured our team was on hand to support with any performance anomalies ahead of water testing, overseen by our engineers before the plant was transferred back into production.

“The service team all worked very well and efficiently in the challenging time frame that was available.” Daniel White, Senior Project Engineer, Wyke Farms

With the service completed a comprehensive maintenance report has now been issued to Wyke Farms. This includes a record of the work carried out and recommendations for future maintenance schedules based on the inspection of wearing parts.

With Wyke Farms adopting a proactive approach to maintenance and service they will be able to consistently produce their high-quality dairy products, with the peace of mind that their processing equipment is performing as originally designed.
