RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents, the global distributor for engineers, is affiliating with brands such as Ambersil, Facom and Schneider Electric to deliver a trade show at its Heathrow branch on Tuesday 17th June (from 10.00am – 5.30pm) and Wednesday 18th June (from 8.30am – 4.30pm). The free event will help customers who work in the food and beverage industry by sharing the latest insights on hygiene, tool traceability and legislation.

The two-day trade show is aimed at customers who work in processing plants including meat, dairy, cereals and vegetables, as well as the final manufacturing of foods, bakery, wines and spirits. It is a conscious effort by RS to demonstrate its commitment to provide customers with a value-added service offer, which means delivering the knowledge and tools they need to help them to be compliant with the latest health and safety legislation.

Visitors will be able to drop into the show, which is being held at the RS branch in Green Lane, Hounslow and talk to experts about day-to-day issues faced in running an effective and efficient food processing plant.

Richard Howell, expert representative from Ambersil, will be available on the day to share the latest legislation on lubricants in the industry. He said: “RS is a strategic partner for many businesses in the food and drink sector. With Ambersil present at the event, engineers will be able to raise maintenance chemical questions which I am happy to offer advice on. In conjunction with RS, we can even arrange site visits to assist in providing a complete chemical solution”.

From Facom, technical sales representatives, Andy Willson and Martin Edwards, will offer guidance that will enable businesses to reduce hygiene risks and lost production time due to poorly managed maintenance kits. Andrew commented: “At Facom our passion is producing tools designed to meet the highest standards and the food industry is no exception to this. We understand that food and drink manufacturers need to provide 5S compliant tool control solutions and meet the most stringent hygiene controls, which is why it’s essential for us to support this event. This event is a great opportunity to showcase some of the technologies Facom can offer specifically designed for the food industry. From stainless steel tools to bespoke two tone foams and laser etching for customised toolkits, we can provide the total solution so customers are always in control.”

Also attending will be Mark Staples, national sales manager – food and beverage at Schneider Electric who will discuss improvements that can be made to the ‘clean in place’ (CIP) process that helps to maintain hygiene and product quality via additional automation using PLC control and monitoring.

Technical advisers from RS will also be on hand to demonstrate the range of spill kits available which can help customers react to unforeseen spills and to prevent a single spill becoming a major clean-up operation, potentially stopping production.

Andy Dixon, business manager at RS Heathrow, said: “Partnering with brands such as Schneider Electric, Facom and Ambersil is just one of the ways RS is helping companies to be more efficient in their everyday business. We are committed to continually work with experts to help deliver important information such as this.”
