Sycamore is delighted to announce that Joe Matthews has been appointed to its Board of Directors as its new Technical Director.
Joe’s journey with Sycamore began in 2013 when he joined as a CAD Engineer, bringing his focus and skill to the mechanical design of their process systems. His talent and dedication saw him quickly rise through the ranks, taking on roles as Design Engineer, Senior Design Engineer, and most recently, Design Engineering Manager, a position he has held since 2021.
Joe’s professional development has been supported throughout by key mentors within the business. Under the guidance of Sycamore’s Chairman, Tim Sharp, Joe pursued professional registration with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers, achieving Chartered Engineer status in 2022. Sycamore’s Managing Director, Jerry Redman, and Business Development and Commercial Director, Paul Manning, have also played pivotal roles in supporting Joe on his path to leadership.
In 2024, Joe’s expertise was recognised on an international stage when he was invited to join an EHEDG (European Hygienic Engineering & Design Group) Working Group, contributing to the global effort to update hygienic design requirement guidelines for CIP (Clean-in-Place) installations.
Joe’s promotion to Technical Director is a testament to his outstanding commitment, leadership, and technical excellence over more than a decade at Sycamore.
In his new role, Joe will shape and lead Sycamore’s technical strategy, fostering innovation and driving operational excellence across the business. His vision and leadership will be instrumental as Sycamore continues to develop cutting-edge, hygienic, and future-ready solutions for their customers.
