Ordering online at RS gets cheaper as small order delivery charges are removed

RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE:ECM), the global distributor for engineers, has announced the company is to remove the £4.95 delivery charge usually incurred with orders under £20, when placed online in the UK from 5 May.

With nearly 70% of orders now placed online at uk.rs-online.com, this marks a positive move by the company to promote its commitment to providing customers with excellent value for money, by offering the products they want with no minimum value charges such as delivery.

Didier Goguelin, Head of Sales, Continental Europe and UK Country Manager at RS said: “Our online business has grown significantly. We recognise the importance of this channel, which is why we continue to invest in our award-winning website to improve the customer journey online, making it simpler and quicker for them to do business with RS.”

He continued: “Whilst some other online retailers impose a small charge on orders placed online, we are removing similar charges so that all purchasing online, regardless of the order value, is free.”

The delivery charge will be removed for all online orders placed by RS customers from 5 May 2015.
