Evaporative cooling is the most efficient option when cooling large areas, especially industrial and commercial spaces. Refrigerant air conditioning is not an option, because the capital and running costs would be extremely prohibitive.
Evaporative coolers do not use any sort of chemical refrigerants to cool the air, just water which is supplied by a water pump to the wetted media where evaporation occurs and electrical power for the fan that pushes the air inside the building. Evaporative coolers use up to 87% less energy than conventional A/C and brings in 100% fresh outside air. That all adds up to very responsible environmental and energy saving characteristics.
It is important to remember that cooled air inside the building is not recirculated, so doors or windows must be left open for this air to escape, alternatively extract fans can be installed. This can be a great solution to improve indoor air quality, in production areas where fumes and dust particles are a problem. Evaporative air coolers blow 100% fresh air into the building from outside and actually filter the incoming air, removing most airborne dust and pollen particles. The wet cooling pads trap most of these particles, which are washed down into the sump by the circulating water.
Many companies have already decided to install Seeley International’s evaporative coolers in the UK. Production management researched traditional forms of cooling, initially considering the installation of air-handling units & chillers; however, the system would have required heavily intrusive ductwork within the roof space and significant floor space for the plant. But is was the comparison of capital and running costs that the management decided to install 28 Breezair TBSI580 Evaporative Coolers and the inside temperature at peak conditions has now dropped to a more comfortable 24°C.
Stale warm air is now replaced with fresh cooled air and this is having a positive impact on work force’s health ad comfort: uncomfortable summer temperatures that could reach 35°C in the factory, turned to a more comfortable 24°C.

Climate Wizard is part of the indirect evaporative cooling product range, but its operation is based on a powerful heat exchanger and a patented evaporative cooling cycle (M-Cycle), that allows to cool at temperatures that rival traditional DX cooling system, using up to 80% less energy and not adding any moisture to the air. This product is particularly suitable for areas that need low temperatures and that are negatively affected by humidity. Climate Wizard-P is available from this year in the new polymeric material version: with a lighter profile and design, it allows side-by-side installation and easy crane lift. Climate Wizard can be used to pre-cool air entering air handling units, in order to reduce energy use of existing cooling system and running costs.
