A vital aspect of food production, preparation and storage is a temperature-controlled environment. Food must be kept at a recommended temperature range to inhibit bacterial growth which could result in food contamination.

Hydratech recognise the importance of controlling the temperature of food across the whole supply chain whilst maximising the heat transfer efficiency and productivity.

For the last two decades, Hydratech has used their unrivalled technical knowledge of flow characteristics, thermodynamics and cooling systems to design and formulate innovative fluid solutions.

Launched in 2011, Coolflow DTX is a low-viscosity, high thermal efficiency process cooling fluid, proven to reduce energy costs by >10%, as verified Star Technical Services. Alternatively, Coolflow DTX can facilitate an increase in production-output using the same process cooling plant.  Currently installed in >3000 food and beverage process cooling systems worldwide, Coolflow DTX technology is patented, verified as non-toxic by the HSE, biodegradable by the Danish EA and food-safe by the Dutch Food Standards Agency.

Who in the Food and Beverage sector are already using CoolFlow DTX?

The list of CoolFlow DTX adopters is now extensive and includes a host of well-known companies from the food and beverage sectors, including; Arla, Warburtons, DairyGold, Morrisons, Diageo, Hovis, Molson Coors, Aldi, Lidl, Brewdog, Eli Lilly, Country Style Foods, Tiny Rebel, Co-op, Faccenda foods etc.  DTX based coolants are also used in a variety of industrial and commercial sectors, where non-toxicity and low environmental impact are high priorities.  End users and contractors from these sectors include; Honeywell Aerospace, Aggreko – Temperature Control Division, Daiken, Siemens, Mercedes, J&E Hall, Star Refrigeration, GE Aviation and AMEC to name a few.  So, it would be true to say CoolFlow DTX is making a name as the non-toxic high-efficiency alternative to propylene glycol.

Hydratech also manufacture Coolflow NTP and Coolflow NTP-HT1 non-toxic heat transfer fluids, based on propylene glycol, plus a range of inhibitors to prevent corrosion, scale and biological fouling in cooling & heating systems.

To ensure rapid turnaround of orders, significant stocks of raw materials and finished stock are always maintained, facilitating same-day despatch of >200M3 of neat and/or >1000M3 of ready-to-use fluids.

Technical support is available 24-7 by phone, or a member of the Fluid Management Services Team can provide on-site support – as required. The Fluid Monitoring Program and associated portal provides ongoing confirmation of fluid condition and tracks any associated treatment.
