Captured! SPIRAC’s CSO screen reduces unsightly pollution-causing solids

Dec 4, 2023 | News, Water & Waste Treatment

As water companies look to combat the impact from the increasing occurrence of stormwater events that trigger harmful outfalls from CSOs, SPIRAC has completed two new installations of its proven, affordable CSO screen.

Designed with advanced Overflow Weir Protection, SPIRAC’s SPIROGUARD CSO Screen significantly addresses the growing challenges of stormwater management by capturing unsightly pollution-causing solids.

Low on maintenance, with standard, readily available parts, the conveyors for the SPIRAC CSO screens are shaftless, meaning less labour and less likelihood of blockages. With slower revolutions than shafted conveyors significantly reducing wear and tear, the design also allows increased volumes (up to 2500 L/per second). In addition, there is a space-saving built-in grease-point extension, which removes the need for a platform.

Encompassing all the design hallmarks of SPIRAC’s vast experience in screens, SPIROGUARD comes equipped with a self-cleaning brush to clean and prevent clogging of the 3mm perforated screen plates.
