When Great Britain left the EU, the existing EU ATEX Directive was adopted as a UK standard under the term UKEX. A UKCA EX fan is certified under the existing ATEX Directive and has also been assessed by UK bodies to certify that it meets all UKCA requirements. We’re proud to confirm that our polypropylene fans will be certified well ahead of the deadline.
SEAT Ventilation, the manufacturer of Axair’s impressive range of ATEX fume extraction fans will carry both UKCA and the EX-symbol to show its compliance on all zone 2 fume fans. Axair will continue to operate as the UK approved assembler for the manufacturer supported by SEATs extensive training and UKEX certificates.
With over 25 years of experience working with SEAT Ventilation, Axair supports a large network of UK fume cupboard manufacturers and those within the environmental corrosive fume market with our range of industrial fans. Corrosion resistant fans are supplied with metal or outdoor polypropylene pedestals and are specified to match the exact requirements of the applications operating and performance duty.
Our ATEX SA and STA range comprises of 10 sizes and is manufactured using molded carbon loaded polypropylene to prevent static discharges. The range is suitable for category 3G zone 2 applications in accordance with ATEX Directive 94/9/CE and can be supplied with EEx nA (nonincendive) motors to order.
The Axair team have undertaken extensive training in ATEX regulations but have a duty of care to ensure we supply a suitable fan based upon a customer’s correct ATEX coding specifications. In addition to their ATEX coding, ATEX fans must be selected with reasonably good knowledge of their flow rate or pressure operating point; the temperature and fume content of the air to be transported; especially whether hydrogen or acetylene fumes are present; whether they are being installed indoors or outdoors; the voltage of the anti-condensation heaters (if specified) and which handing is required in the case of centrifugal fans.
We hold stock of all our single and three phase polypropylene fans with standard AC motors, energy efficient EC motors and ATEX configurations to enable us to service our UK customers.
