Ingersoll Rand is now offering fixed price compressor service contracts, for up to five years, through its network of CompAir- and Gardner Denver-approved distributors.
With rising energy prices and the financial consequences of downtime, owners of compressed air systems are seeking new ways to improve the performance of their installation – and many are realising the benefits of a comprehensive maintenance regime. However, some sites are still wary of investing in a comprehensive care package, adopting a reactive approach and paying to fix compressor problems as they arise, rather than using preventative maintenance measures.
The new, fixed price service options enable customers to agree a full service and support package with their local distributor, upfront, with up to five-years’ fixed pricing at an agreed year-on-year increase. The offer is available on the company’s proven CompAir Assure service agreements and the GD PROTECT package and includes genuine spare parts and equipment maintenance.
Colin Mander, Director of Compressed Air Systems for Distribution, Europe and Middle East, Ingersoll Rand explained: “We have thousands of compressor maintenance agreements in place around the world, and the data speaks for itself. Customers that choose to have their compressed air installation serviced regularly see 50 per cent less alarms, 30 per cent fewer trips and failures, a 20 per cent increase in first-time fix rate and most important of all, a 25 per cent improvement in equipment downtime.
“However, we still see many sites that are reluctant to invest in a longer-term service and maintenance package, even though a compressor breakdown can have serious financial consequences through downtime and lost revenue. We hope that this latest offer will encourage more compressed air users to consider the benefits of a comprehensive maintenance package.”
Poor equipment performance can place additional strain on components, whereas as a professionally and regularly serviced compressor will deliver long life, reliable operation and ultimately, better energy performance.
To help achieve this, all service agreements are supported by CompAir iConn or Gardner Denver GD Connect, intelligent digital platforms that can assist compressed air users with production planning, while protecting their investment too. Delivering historic, real-time, predictive and cognitive analytics, these platforms make sure any potential issues are rectified quickly, before they become a bigger problem, which can be costly and time-consuming to resolve.
A compressed air system depends on the correctly specified components. Replacing the right parts at the right time ensures longer life and reduces the likelihood of equipment breakdown. All packages benefit therefore from genuine spare parts, which limits unnecessary equipment wear and tear, for optimal performance.
