The Instrumentation Scotland & Offshore Systems exhibition will be taking place on Wednesday 31st August and Thursday 1st September at the AECC Aberdeen. So what kinds of products can you expect to see?

On Wednesday 31st August, the AECC Aberdeen will open its doors to the popular Instrumentation Scotland & Offshore Systems show. This two day event will bring together companies that supply products and services specific to the offshore sector, in addition to North East Scotland’s other key industries – including processing, power generation, paper, distilling, water and waste, marine engineering, etc.

It includes a two-day exhibition, featuring a wide range of companies displaying their latest technologies, and running alongside this will be a free CPD accredited seminar programme with speakers from companies including Green Hills, Shawcity and Beamex.

2016 exhibitors

Among those companies exhibiting this year will be Shawcity; Institute of Measurement & Control; Hitex; ESI; Michell; Sullivan & Sons; Isothermal; Industrial Communications; Fischer Connectors; Swagelok; Rivertrace Engineering; Beamex; VPG Sensors; Berthold Technologies; PR Electronics; Miland; Green Hills Software; Product Technology Partners; Jumo Instruments; Nikon Metrology; Lee Spring; Bronkhorst; Swagelok; Infratec; Instrumentation; PCN; and Gambica.

As an example of what will be on show, visitors to Michell Instruments’ stand  will be able to see such products as the MDM300 I.S. high speed portable hygrometer, which was designed for natural gas applications  and moisture measurements in hazardous areas. Visitors will also have the opportunity to use the augmented reality app to ‘see’ the QMA601 process moisture analyser, which features the latest in QCM measurement technology.

Miland Associates, meanwhile, will be showing a number of existing, enhanced and new product technologies including the modular fieldbus and remote

I/O-systems from TURCK , which offer a comprehensive range of solutions for factory and process automation with interfaces for the fieldbus protocols PROFIBUS-DP, DeviceNet, CANopen, Modbus TCP, Ethernet/IP and PROFINET. excom is an IP20 remote-I/O-system for Ex and non-Ex areas. Also on show will be the rugged contactless encoder, Ri360P-QR24, which is suitable for applications where rotation speeds, sense, position, angle and lengths have to be captured. These meet different positioning tasks with a resolution of up to 18 bits (absolute encoders) and of up to 36,000 pulses per revolution (incremental encoders). Visitors will also be able to see the new IMX series of Interface Technology.

Also taking a stand this year is Green Hills Software, an independent vendor of embedded development solutions. The company helps customers develop software platforms certified to the Functional Safety Standards increasingly mandated for new and upgraded equipment across industrial instrumentation and offshore systems.

The SIL 3 pre-certified INTEGRITY Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) forms the core of the Green Hills Platform for Functional Safety, which specifically addresses security and safety-critical software development. The platform also includes: the industry-proven, and SIL 4 qualified, MULTI Integrated Development Environment with optimising compilers, extensive middleware, custom engineering and certification services.

The INTEGRITY RTOS is pre-certified and accepted by TÜV to enable the safe and secure execution of standalone applications or consolidated (including mixed SIL levels) certified and non-certified applications on a single hardware platform.

Shawcity will be exhibiting examples from its extensive range of instrumentation at the show, including solutions for Benzene and environmental monitoring, plus new products such as the MultiRAE Benzene 6 Gas Monitor and the FROG-4000. The MultiRAE Benzene includes up to six-gas detection and real-time wireless capability, while the FROG-4000 is a portable gas chromatograph with photoionization detector, providing VOC analysis for water, soil and air samples.

On Lee Spring’s stand, representatives will be available to discuss specific projects. The company will also be displaying new products including a stock series of stainless steel 316 products for superior corrosion resistance, die springs, as well as its Lite Pressure compression springs.
