Some more encouraging news for UK engineering this month, with the official opening of Jiskoot’s new Technology Centre in Tunbridge Wells. The centre was opened by Jim Wright, the senior vice president and president of the Valves & Measurement Group, from Jiskoot’s parent company, Cameron.

The Jiskoot brand is known for developing and building measurement and blending systems for crude oil condensate and LNG in the gas, oil and process industries. The company, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, was acquired by Cameron in 2008. Cameron subsequently made strategic investments in the Jiskoot brand, including the new centre. Existing staff have relocated from  the original Jiskoot location just a few miles away, and the company is now looking to take on more staff, including apprentices.

Mark Jiskoot, general manager of Cameron’s sampling and blending operations and son of the brand’s founder ‘Beer’ Jiskoot, said: “Lots of people have worked over many years to make our success and this new facility a reality and we thank them for their efforts and passion.”
