Promtek Ltd, a leader in automation and process control systems, is proud to announce that it has achieved Gold Status in the Engineering Apprenticeships: Employer Accreditation, an initiative that recognises the best employers in the UK for engineering apprenticeships.

The scheme from Next Gen Makers, in partnership with Make UK, aims to identify and showcase the companies that are shaping the future of engineering and creating a positive experience through outstanding apprenticeship programs.

While Promtek has held accredited status for several years, 2025 marks a significant milestone as the company attains the Gold standard —the highest possible level to be awarded and a recognition reserved for only the very best employers.

“This Gold accreditation is a huge moment for us,” said Charles Williams, managing director, Promtek Ltd. “It reflects our ongoing commitment not just to apprenticeship delivery, but to continuous improvement, team development and the creation of opportunities that both inspire and empower the next generation of engineers.”

As a trusted provider of smart, scalable automation solutions for a wide variety of industrial applications, Promtek places innovation and engineering excellence at the heart of everything it does. The company has long championed apprenticeships as a key pathway to both workforce development and sustainable industry growth.

“At Promtek, we believe that apprenticeships are essential,” said Charles, “not just for our future as a business, but for the strength and innovation of the UK’s engineering sector as a whole. This accreditation is a testament to the dedication of our team and the apprentices who are thriving within our environment.”

Next Gen Makers, working in collaboration with Make UK, developed the scheme to set a national benchmark for best practices in engineering apprenticeship delivery. To achieve accreditation, companies are required to undergo a rigorous and inclusive process. This combines apprentice feedback on mentorship quality and real-life working experiences, together with employer submissions on processes and policies and an in-depth interview with NextGen Makers.

Promtek’s latest assessment resulted in an impressive score of 99 out of a possible 100 points, earning the company the prestigious Gold status and recognition as an exemplary employer.

The accreditation highlights Promtek’s dedication to nurturing emerging engineering talent and creating a workplace culture that supports learning, growth and career development through high-quality apprenticeship opportunities. This latest recognition will allow them to further leverage STEM outreach to engage and encourage aspiring young engineers toward real career pathways, while also shining a light on the power of great employers.

Building on their success, Promtek will continue to invest in future talent and expand its apprenticeship programme, with no doubt a particular goal in sight — achieving that perfect 100 point score in their next review.
