Brammer Buck & Hickman, the leading UK supplier of industrial maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) products and services, is celebrating this year’s Learning at Work Week (13-19th May) with its ‘REHAB’ specialist compressed air training workshops.
Developed in house by Libby Peacock, Product Manager for Pneumatics, Brammer Buck & Hickman’s REHAB compressed air workshops have been designed to help businesses make cost-effective changes to compressed air systems. REHAB training focuses on simple, low cost modifications that won’t negatively affect a machine’s performance. The workshops are tailored to meet each customer’s needs, covering five key areas: reducing energy, education, health & safety, autonomous maintenance and best practice.
Brammer Buck & Hickman’s REHAB training workshops are designed to empower customers using the extensive knowledge and experience the company has gathered in this field over decades. To fully engage participants, the workshops are set in a virtual factory environment with real scenarios and take the form of a game with two teams competing to see who can save the most money by spending the least.
Brammer Buck & Hickman’s entire sales network has been trained in pneumatics and hydraulics as well as Brammer Buck & Hickman’s Insite™ Managers who are located within a customer’s premises, making them ideally placed to deliver this training.
“We have been delivering REHAB compressed air workshops for a couple of years now and the feedback has been excellent” states Libby. “What is key to the success of these workshops is that we empower the customer to make the changes themselves, without the need for any costly equipment or intervention from third parties. It’s also delivered in a manner that is great fun and good for team building, although can get VERY competitive sometimes!
“At a recent workshop we were able to demonstrate how reducing pressure by 1 bar can lead to 10% energy savings without affecting performance. It has also led to reduced wear and tear on their machine parts.
“We find Apprentices are particularly engaged in REHAB training as they can make a genuine difference to a business by implementing some fairly basic changes. That’s one of the reasons we wanted to promote REHAB training during Learning at Work Week as this year’s theme is ‘Shaping the Future’.”
Learning at Work Week is an annual UK based event encouraging businesses to build learning cultures at work. The week aims to spotlight the importance and benefits of continual learning and development within the workplace.
