Labfacility now offers the iCelsius/iCelsius PRO Temperature Probes.?Read on to find out more…
The new iCelsius and iCelsius PRO temperature probes are specifically designed to convert an iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch into a digital thermometer. Available as a free download from the APP STORE the new product offering works with the probes to read temperatures, create graphs, set-up alerts, store and email graphs.
The i-Celsius displays the most recent reading from the iCelsius Probe both as a digital reading and analogue reading. The user can set the iCelsius to show the temperature to read in Celsius (°C) or Fahrenheit (°F). The red cursor shows the alarm upper limit (a blue cursor shows the alarm lower limit).
The iCelsius conveniently shows the last minute data from the sensor on an easy to read chart. The red line shows the alarm upper limit (if set). A blue line would show the alarm lower limit. As with many other apps, you can easily zoom in and out of the graph by simply pinching or dragging the frame.
Alarm Setup allows you to set upper and lower limits for the alarm to trigger when the program detects whatever your testing has reached the pre-determined limit. Additionally, you can program the App to send out a call to another phone when the alarm goes off.
- Connects and powered through iPhone, iPad, iPod touch dock connector
- Intuitive real-time temperature measurements
- Generate stunning graphs
- Trigger alerts when alarm thresholds are crossed
- Displays the most recent readings from the iCelsius probe as well as historical data on a chart.
- Export graphs in Picture Library or as an Email, CSV file.

Two products are available:
A 1″ stainless steel tip temperature probe that transforms your iPhone/ iPad and iPod touch into a digital thermometer.
A 4″ stainless steel tip temperature probe with extended range and better accuracy that transforms your iPhone/iPad and iPod touch into a digital thermometer.
The iCelsius Probe reacts quickly to changes, which enables it to provide temperature readings rapidly. The iCelsius Pro can provide accurate temperature readings in the ranges of –22°F to 302°F (–30°C to 150°C) and can be used for various applications. The iCelsius Pro uses a 4″ stainless steel tip to report temperature readings through the iPad when the probe is in thermal contact with the medium.
Schools and Universities are showing a growing interest in the iPads and iPod touches. The iCelsius Probes can be a great tool for education for science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects as teachers can use their iPad and iPod touch to demonstrate lessons and conduct experiments. Flexibility in use of the iCelsius Probes means school teachers can help students understand the concept of temperature, while university students can use the iCelsius Pro to carry out more advanced experiments in the lab.
The iCelsius Probes can also be used in a myriad of other applications such as in the kitchen (cooking), for monitoring baby health and baby food temperature and for other household situations. The iCelsius is easy to use as the user simply has to plug the cable into the device and then download the free application from the App Store.
Additional further sensors are currently under review which include additionally enhanced flexible probes which can be used in cooking, baking, grilling, for measuring meat temperature or for checking oil temperature for frying.
