The EXLUX 6001 and EXLUX 6009 are the first linear fluorescent luminaires to have been tested and approved for hazardous areas pursuant to IECEX 60079-0 (2007-10); R Stahl has completely revised its luminaire concept to offer a modern, robust method of illumination with a focus on ease of installation and maintenance.
EXLUX 6001 features a design that is considerably more compact, stable and torsion resistant than its EXLUX 6000 predecessor and depending on their performance class are a quarter to a third lighter than before. Users can now benefit from a slimmer, narrower unit which unlike most lights can be operated at ambient temperatures as low as -30°C. In many cases, this amounts to a considerable extension of the application range that saves costs by rendering additional specifications unnecessary.
In order to facilitate a step-by-step exchange of existing EXLUX pendants, installation of the new units remains fully compatible with the predecessor series and easily removable replacement parts ensure quick and easy maintenance. As before, the new lights are available with customer specific modifications on request however, R. STAHL also offers a range of highly cost-efficient standard models with a power consumption of either 18 W, 36W or 58W that are readily available. These models are adequately equipped for the majority of typical applications and feature 4mm² cage clamp terminals, 5-core through-wiring and an isolation switch; fully compliant with current industry standards with, the new silicone-based foamed gasket optimized for maximum durability, as stipulated by IEC 60079. This sealing solution, which is resistant to various chemicals as well as UV Radiation, the fitting’s hinge and a newly designed central lock reliably ensure IP66/IP67 protection over many years.
Both the EXLUX 6001 (standard) and EXLUX 6009 (emergency) are excellently suited for use in a broad range of industries including oil & gas, offshore, chemical, refineries and the food and drink industry.
